Mr. Henry Lee "Hen Hog" Harris, Sr., 48, of Hamburg died Saturday, September 18, 1999, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A native of Jones, LA, and a Hamburg resident for over 20 years, he was a boiler-maker and rigger and a member of the Apolistic House of Prayer in Bastrop, LA. Survivors include his wife, Linda Gayle Brock Harirs of Hamburg; a son, Hank Harris of Hamburg; three daughters, Amanda Dixon of Snohomish, Washington, Mary Frances Harris and Virginia Lee Harris of Hamburg; a brother, Frankie Lee Harris of Hamburg; four sisters, Darlene Crain of Houston, TX, Christine Harris of Orange, TX, Bonnie McMath of Hamburg and Kathy Miles of Winnsboro, LA; his maternal grandmother, Kathleen McDaniel of Silsbee, TX; three grandchildren, Farrah Dixon, Matthew Harris and Jessie Francis; and many other relatives. Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home in Hamburg with Revs. Jerry Rawley and Scott Carroll officiating. Pallbearers were to be Buddy Barnett, James Hammond, Don Shirers, Eric Cravan, Donnie Hull and Ricky Crain. Honorary pallbearers were to be Steve Murphy, Alfred Graves, Larry Barnett and Joe Lewis. Burial was to follow services at the Mount Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Linda Harris, 53, of Bastrop, Louisiana, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Harris was a native of Bastrop, Louisiana; a former resident of Hamburg for many years and a resident of Bastrop since 2000. She worked at Fred’s Pharmacy in Bastrop and she was a member of the Victory Tabernacle of Bastrop.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Harris Sr., in 1999 and her father, Loyd Brock.

She is survived by a son, Henry Lee (Hank) Harris Jr. and wife, Samantha; two daughters, Mary Francis Mayberry and husband, R.L., and Virginia Lee Harris-Diel and husband, Dewey; a step-daughter, Amanda Barton and husband, Ricky; her mother, Odell Matthews all of Bastrop, Louisiana; a brother, Frank Brock of Dyer; six sisters, Theresa Westmoreland of Ozark, Tammie Fatheree and Sharon Gregory both of Bastrop, Louisiana, Patty Dye of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Betty Jo Matthews of Beekman, Louisiana and Janie Bader of Bastrop, Louisiana; a very close friend, Sharon McKeigan of Bastrop, Louisiana and 18 grandchildren.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2012 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Sander and Pastor Jerry Rowley officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
