Toy Buel Parish, age 76, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. Born in Cleburne County on March 25, 1933, he was the son of the late Sherman and Onie Lee Smith Parish.
Mr. Parish was a retired employee of Aeroquip and a longtime resident of the area. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
Mr. Parish was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Diane Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Avanell Gauvey Parish of Heber Springs; two sons, Glenn Parish and wife, Charlotte, and Mike Parish and wife, Nena, all of Rose Bud; one daughter, Diane DeBusk and husband, Larry, of Rose Bud; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Barnett and husband, Ronnie, and Debbie Snow and husband, John, all of Heber Springs; three brothers, Roger Parish, Wacko Parish, and Lanis Parish, all of Rose Bud; two sisters, Joy Wingate of Cabot and Sylvia Bell of Rose Bud; five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren. Mr. Parish is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 8, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the Friendship Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Morrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. Ronnie Barnett, John Snow, Jerry Parish, Jeff Parish, Wesley Scoggins, and Roger Lynn Parish will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Watson, Edward Bell, and Michael Parish.
