W B Wingfield Rites Tuesday September 28, 1970
Funeral services for Walter B Wingfield will be held from the Martin funeral Chapel at 10:30 am Tuesday, with Rev Glenwood Buzbee officiating. Burial will follow in the Evans Cemetery near Magazine, Ark, Wednesday.
Mr Wingfield was born at Magazine, Ark, Feb 25, 1862, and died in a Clinton hospital after a confinement of four weeks. He came to the Merritt community in 1930 where he had lived since. He joined the First Baptist Church at Magazine when he was a small lad.
He was married to Fannie Bell Kirk at Magazine Dec 25, 1905. She preceded him in death Feb 22, 1927. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by six children; Mrs Stanley Loman, McCloud; Mrs Hewitt Williams, Shallowwater, Tex, Mrs Paul Kinney, Oklahoma City; A R "Jack" Wingfield, Elk City, Ruble Wingfield, Bellflower, Calif., James A Wingfield, Clinton; one sister, Mrs Loda Whittaker, Blythville, Ark; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
One son preceded him in death.
