Willa T. Lanier, age 82, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at the Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab Center in Heber Springs. Born in Deer Park, Florida, on September 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Tave and Kate (Hunter) Tindall.
Mrs. Lanier was a homemaker and a member of the Osceola County Historical Society and the Osceola Cow Bells. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church at Kissimmee, Florida.
Mrs. Lanier was preceded in death by her husband, Ross V. Lanier.
She is survived by one son, Herbert “Herkie” Tindall of Quitman; two daughters, Kira Lanier and Holly Lanier, both of Quitman; one granddaughter, Katie Tindall; one great grandson, Derek Robinson; her sister-in-law, Judy Tindall; her nieces and nephews, Mark Tindall and wife, Karla; Joanie Barber and husband, Joe; Crystal Jones and husband, Larry; Dale Batton; Sue Kelly; and Denny Lanier; and many great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. Lanier is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 20, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be held Friday, Jan. 21, at 10:00 a.m. at the Center Point Cemetery with Joe Kennedy officiating.
