Verna Bea McCullough Campbell, age 84 of Warren, Arkansas died Thursday, September 16, at Baptist Medical Center, Little Rock. She was born September 12, 1920 in New Edinburg, Arkansas a daughter of the late Joe J. McCullough and Ellen A. Simms McCullough. She was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church and a sales associate of Martin's Department Store with 50 years of service. Verna was very proud of her heritage and having grown up in the New Edinburgh area with a large family. She was also very proud of her church of which she was a long time member and a member of the adult Sunday school class. Verna had worked at Martin's Department Store for 50 years and considered them her extended family. She married Orries Franklin Campbell on February 15, 1941 and he died November 1, 1977. Surviving is a daughter Peggy Curry, Dallas, Tex; 1 sister Ina Spears, Fordyce, Ark. and several nieces and nephiews. 5 brothers Henry McCullough, Virgil McCullough, Earl McCullough, Edward McCullough and Marvin McCullough and 3 sisters Hazel M. Morgan, Marie M. Mitchell and Lina McCullough also preceded her in death. Funeral service were 2:00 pm Saturday, September 18, at Frazer's Chapel by Rev. Jerry Carter and Rev. Allen Blackford. Janice Sullivan was the organist and Ben Garner led the Central Missionary Baptist Church Choir in song. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Bobby Morgan, Perry Morgan, Roy Chambers, Danny Mitchell, Michael Mitchell and Michael Seamon. Honorary pallbearers were the Adult Sunday School Class. Memorials preferred to Central Missionary Baptist Church, 406 Seminary Street, Warren, Ark. 71671 or the American Heart Association.
