Maudie Groves Ross, age 94, of Warren, AR. died Saturday February 19, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home. Born July 1, 1916 at New Edinburg, AR. a daughter of the late Dave Groves and Fannie Brumley Groves she was a retired employee of Pine Lodge Nursing Home and Wagnon Place Nursing Home, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the widow of Ira Lee Ross whom she married September 30, 1933 and he died December 20, 1955. Also, preceding her in death was a daughter Barbara Ann Ross, a granddaughter Melanie Ann Young, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Survivors are 1 son Jimmy Lee Ross, Crossett, AR., 2 daughters Janet Frisby Reaves, White Hall, AR. and Martha Young, Rye, AR. 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Tuesday February 22, at Frazer's Chapel with Rev. Michael Kelly officiating. Terry Young was pianist and soloist were Pam Groves and Anthony Young. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Terry Young, Anthony Young, Ken Young, James Frisby, David Frisby, Michael Frisby, Jeffery Frisby and Tommy Groves. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Harton, Roger Mann, Dr. Kerry Pennington, Larry Wherry and Garry Jones.
