John C. Ferrell, age 86, of Warren, AR., died Tuesday June 2, at Monticello Health Care. Born July 17, 1922 at French Camp, MS. a son of the late Clifford Ferrell and Casadia Armstrong Ferrell Windham he was a retired civil service employee for the National Guard, member First Baptist Church, member Warren Lodge # 33, F. & A.M., Order of Eastern Star Chapter # 3 and a World War II. Navy veteran.
Also, preceding him in death was a son John Carl Ferrell, brothers Charles Windham, Jack Windham, James Windham, sisters Pearl Mays, Virginia Garrison, a grandchild and 2 great grandchildren.
Survivors are his wife Hazel Dorman Ferrell whom he married April 6, 1941. 2 sons Thomas Ferrell, Monticello, AR., Cliff Ferrell, Star City, AR. 1 daughter Julia Ferrell Harris, Corsicana, TX. 1 brother Clarence Windham, Monticello, AR. 3 sisters Roma Lee Keeling, North Little Rock, AR., Ouita Blackwell, Mobile, AL., Sherry Hilburn, Kelso, AR., 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Friday June 5, Frazer's Chapel with Rev. Greg Stanley officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and soloist were Mariln Raines and Donna Raines. Burial with flag presentation was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Blake Hicks, Ray McCauley, Leonard Hicks, John McClellan, Shannon Fletcher and Ray Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist Church.
