October 27, 1950 - January 6, 2012
Philip "Foots" Ferrell age 61 of Johnsville, Ar. died Friday, January 6th at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was born October 27th, 1950 in Warren AR. a son of Madeline McKenzie Ferrell, Johnsville and the late Thomas Marshall Ferrell. He was a farmer, a truck driver and a member of Palestine United Methodist Church. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke: his words spoke loudly and clearly. He loved to swap stories with his buddies. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and watching old westerns. When his father passed away from cancer, he stepped up and became a second father to his younger brother and sister. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed teaching them to hunt, fish, farm and drive the tractor as well as lovingly teasing them as he guided them through life. Also preceding him in death was his maternal grandparents, Harvey and Esther McKenzie and his paternal grandparents, J.C. "Jimmy" and Lizzie Ferrell, a brother in law Charles Martin and a cousin Alma McClain.
He is also survived by his wife whom he married October 24, 1972. Candice Kuppinger Ferrell. 2 daughters, Jamie Joy Jones and spouse Eddy, Springdale, AR. LaKendal Piper, Johnsville, AR. A brother, Thomas E. "Tommy" Ferrell and spouse Renee, Johnsville, AR. A sister Nancy Martin, Hamburg, AR. 4 grandchildren Kami Piper, Johnsville, AR., Sidney Jones, Springdale, AR. Lynzey Best and spouse Joe, Rogers AR.; Ashley Jones, Lowell, AR. 1 great-grandchild Alexxa Best, Rogers, AR. A nephew Steven Ferrell, Johnsville, AR. and nieces Courtney Ferrell, Johnsville, AR. and Nikki Martin, Hamburg, AR.
Funeral services were 1:30pm Monday, January 9th at Frazer's Chapel with Rev. Tim Saunders and Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist and soloist was Jennifer Jones. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Scotty Ferrell, Clay Lowry, Bob Williams, Mitch Wardlaw, Robbie Lowry, Eddie Ferrell, Charlie Maxwell, Heaath Maxwell and Justin Calhoun. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Ferrell, Keith Outlaw, Bobby Ray Wilson, Donie Ray Lowry, Bryan Ferrell, Kenneth Ferrell, Otha Ferrell, Sonny Rainey, Billy Joe Ferrell, Mack Wayne Harrod, Dr. Kerry Pennington, Karen Richardson and James Pennington.
