IRENE BURTON BURKES, 86, of Little Rock, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. She was born on Feb. 16, 1925, in Little Rock, Ark., to the late Bryan and Elizabeth Lester Kelley. She was of the Methodist faith, and worked as a brazer at AMF Bicycle Plant for 26 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Virgil Burton, second husband, James Burkes. She is survived by a son, Randy Burton (Peggy), of Bryant; daughter, Joyce Sanders (Tim), of Maumelle; five grandchildren, Lee Ann Culp, Jerry Victory Jr., Chris Hitt, Brandy Hindsley, and Mary Beth Briones; two sisters, Helen Wright, of Little Rock and Patricia Nielsen, of Texas; brother, J. R. Kelley, of California; and many friends and relatives. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900, I-30, Little Rock, Ark., 501-455-5800. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Woodson Cemetery.
