Ova Irene Shue, 89 of Quitman passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2008 in Heber Springs. Born in Quitman on June 13, 1919, she was a daughter to the late William Adam and Beulah (Phillips) May. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a lifelong member of Fairbanks Community Church in Quitman.
Ova was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Rufus “Bud” Shue; five sisters: Jewell Bagwell, Vester Declue, Annie Hensley, Sybil Mays and Gladys Holley.
She is survived by her son Jimmy Dale Shue and wife Wilma of Quitman; three grandchildren: Tracy McDaniel and husband Dennis, Timothy Shue and wife Tonia both of Quitman, and Amy Gentry and husband Jason of Greers Ferry; step-grandchildren: Shana Banks and husband Gene of Quitman and Selena Newby and husband Charlie of South Haven, MS; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and a sister Colleen Allen and husband Cecil of Quitman.
Jerry Shue, Dennis McDaniel, Jason Gentry, Gene Banks, Alston McDaniel and Aaron Smith served as pallbearers.
