Ruby Alma (Hodges) Bittle, age 81, of Heber Springs passed over Jordan to be with her Lord and Savior March 25, 2009. She was born April 18, 1927, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Lenora Stone Hodges and Archie A. Hodges.
Ruby was an active member of the Sunny Slope Baptist Church.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing gospel music and song writing.
Survivors include her husband, Walter (WT) Bittle; three sons, Troy Oldham and wife Joyce and James Oldham and wife Jenny both of Heber Springs and Charles Oldham of Heber Springs ; two daughters, Edith Rackley of Quitman and Karen McCarty and husband J.D. of Drasco; ; two brothers, Charles Hodges of Modesto, CA and Archie Hodges of Archer City, TX; two sisters, Louise Garvin of Redding, CA and Billie Jean Ashley of Castro Valley, CA; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and many friends.
She is also survived by three step-daughters, Sandra Pitman and husband Charlie of Greenbrier, AR, Sharon Duvall and husband Jack of Russellville, AR and Cindy Wilson of Heber Springs, AR; step-son, Jay Bittle and wife Christie; fourstep-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Troy Oldham; three sisters, Aline Marshall, Frances Beasley and Jarita Wayland and son-in-law, Dale Rackley.
