Elva Kuykendall, 90, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was born Sept. 30, 1911, in Walnut Ridge. She was a retired cafeteria worker for Fort Smith Public Schools and a member of Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church of God. Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church of God with burial at Dora Cemetery in Dora under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. She is survived by five daughters, Mary Sue "Susie" Wilkins of Van Buren, Betty Jane "Janie" Perrin, Judy Deeds, Barbara Kay "Katy" Miller, all of Fort Smith, and Darlene Pearson of Sallisaw; a son, Charles Kuykendall of Mabank, Texas; a sister, Opal Humphreys of Fort Smith; a stepsister, Ola Sharp of Fort Smith; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be George Miller, Leroy Deeds, Larry Pearson, Paul Perrin, Darrel Wilkins and Warren Bauh. Times Record Online
