Calico Rock Progress, Calico Rock, Arkansas, December 12, 1957:
Four Arkansas Die in Wreck
Mr. and Mrs. William Richard Ruminer both 25 of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas and their twin sons, Connie and Ronnie 5, were injured fatally Sunday the 8th when their car and a trailer truck collided head-on on U. S. Highway 66 near Carthage, Missouri. Highway patrolman said the couple's other child, Brenda Gale 8 and the driver of the truck, Thomas Wright Fletcher 22 of Mansfield, Ohio were injured. The child suffered a fractured pelvis and is in critical condition at a hospital there. Mr. and Mrs. Ruminer were en-route from Orondo, Washington, where they've been working, to Mt. Pleasant. Officers said the trailer truck owned by Mutual Truck Parts Company, Inc. of Chicago was pulling another trailer behind it. All vehicles were demolished.

Only One Survivor Of Family Of Five In Collision
According to wire service reports Brenda Gail Ruminer, 8 years old was the only survivor of the five-member William Richard Ruminer family of Orondo, Washington, in a head-on collision Sunday. At last reports she was in a Carthage, Missouri, hospital in critical condition. Dead in the crash were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ruminer and their twin sons, Ronnie and Connie, 5 years old. The crash occurred on Highway 63 about ten miles east of Carthage, Missouri. Missouri troopers said the Ruminer car and a truck that was pulling another truck, driven by Thomas Fletcher of Mansfield, Ohio, met head-on and all three vehicles were demolished. The Ruminer family had resided in Washington the past two years and were returning to Mt. Pleasant and Tupelo, Mississippi, to spend Christmas with relatives.
