Carolyn Ann Rycraw Shelton, 67, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, was born December 20, 1942, to the late Deacon William Henry Rycraw and Carolyn Hendrix Rycraw, and she went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 10, 2010. She was a graduate of White County Training School at Searcy, Arkansas. She worked as head cook for Buck Power Restaurant and Anderson’s Restaurant. She professed Christianity at an early age at Mt. Arratt Baptist Church. She was married November 10, 1963, to Roosevelt Shelton and they raised four children.
To mourn her death are her husband, Roosevelt Shelton; two sons, Wade Shelton (Ashley) of Jacksonville, Roosevelt “Fuzz” Shelton, Jr. (Debbie) of Wadsworth, Ohio; two daughters, Zina (Orlando) Neely of Searcy and Tommie Johnson of Bald Knob; one brother, William Rycraw, Jr. of Kensett; two sisters, Patricia Graham of Bald Knob and Carmen Juanita Wilson of Little Rock; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a dear and best friend Mae Ola Cunningham; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Special thanks to Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church family and Godsons, Carl Cooney and Corey Welch.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Mt. Arratt Baptist Church, with burial in Beebe Cemetery.
