JENKS, Okla. — Baxter Paul Whorton, 96, of Jenks died May 31, 2005, at Jenks. He was born May 26, 1909, in Loy to Johnny and Lilly Gurley Whorton. He was a retired farmer and a member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and raising flowers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Whorton, in 1996, and one daughter, Charlene Viney, in 1990.
Survivors include one son, Verlin Dean Whorton and wife Peggy of Jenks; one sister-in-law, Veda Russi of Springdale; three grandchildren, Patrick Whorton of Phoenix, Ariz., Michelle Parmiter of Jenks and Lisa Clardy of Lowell; two great-grandchildren, Paige Parmiter and Jace Parmiter.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Friendship Cemetery with Gary Frazier officiating.
Viewing will be one hour before service time at the cemetery.
Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale. Service information may be viewed at www.memfuneral.com.
