MAYHALL, Schuyler Colfax - Following an illness of over two months from which he was gradually recovering, S.C. Mayhall, well known Bentonville citizen and resident here for nearly a quarter of a century, died suddenly Tuesday morning about four o'clock. Heart trouble was the cause of his death. For the past two weeks Mr. Mayhall had shown a marked improvement in his condition and was able to get out doors. Monday he came down town and appeared to be feeling better that night. He died quietly in his sleep. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church, South Wednesday afternoon in the presence of a large number of old friends and acquaintances. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. W.T. Thompson, assisted by Reverends C.C. Cluck and J.D. Allen. Interment was made in the City Cemetery. Schuyler Colfax Mayhall was born in Somerville, Ind. Feb. 2, 1869 and came to Bentonville in 1904. He engaged in fruit and truck business and served as city marshall for several years. Besides his widow he is survived by one son, Arthur Mayhall of Miami, Okla. He also is survived by one brother, Alex Mayhall, and two sisters, Mrs. W.M. Bradshaw and Mrs. James Kirkpatrick, all of this city.
