ANDERSON, Gertie Whillock - The subject of this notice, Gertie Whillock Anderson, was born July 4th, 1881. At the age of ten she was left an orphan. She was married to John Anderson Oct. 19, 1902, died May 7, 1903. Her body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Zion, service conducted by writer. She professed faith in Christ and united with the Baptist Church in 1906. From the statement of those with her during her last hours she seemed to be surrounded by a halo of heavenly glory, rejoicing and trying to shout the praises of God in her weakness.

Mrs. John Anderson died on May 7 at the home of her father-in-law, Mose Anderson, east of Springdale. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were married some six weeks ago{?} and went to Otoe, Oklahoma to make their home. When Mrs. Anderson was taken sick some six months ago she returned to Springdale and Mr. Anderson arrived a few days before her death. The remains were interred in the cemetery at Zion, services being conducted by Eld. I.M. Phillips. The deceased was a member of the Baptist Church. Mr. Anderson will return to Oklahoma to wind up his business and will then come back here to make his home.
