Dola L. Moody of Jordan, daughter of the late Mellie Mary Loosey Herron and John Henry Herron, was born February 10, 1910 in Calico Rock. She died May 30, 1998 at Baxter County Regional Hospital in Mountain Home. She was 88.
Mrs. Moody was united in marriage to Arthur Moody August 4, 1926 at Crossroads. To this union 11 children were born. She was a homemaker and a member of Wise Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Moody enjoyed baking, gardening and her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Doyle Moody of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; Jerry Moody of Calico Rock and Larry Moody of Jordan; two daughters, Delsie Mellon of Jordan and Faye Dockins of Dolph; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sons, one daughter, two sisters and one grandson, Darren Mellon.
Funeral services were held June 2, 1998 at Wise Chapel Baptist Church with Brother Dave Williamson officiating.
Pallbearers were Julian Moody, Arthur Moody, Samuel Hurst, Larry Moody, Jr., Raymond Moody and Floyd Moody. Honorary pallbearers were Dwight Dockins, Dewayne Dockins, Rickey Mellon, Frank Tilley and Justin Sally.
Interment was at Crossroads Cemetery in Pineville under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Mountain Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
