SAGE — Kathryn Sherrell Shaw, 60, of Sage died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at her home.
Born Sept. 24, 1951, in Batesville, she was the daughter of Hearl and Mildred Davis Sherrell. She was united in marriage to Marshall Shaw on July 1, 1995, in Fifty Six.
She was a homemaker. She attended beauty school in Mississippi and upon returning to Oxford she opened up her own beauty shop. Later she was employed at the State of Arkansas as a revenue agent in Izard County, retiring after many years of employment. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 16 years; two sons, Shannon Dockins of Oxford and Casey Shaw of Sage; two daughters, Allyson Butts of Ozark, Mo., and Ashley Shaw of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Charles Sherrell of Oxford; two sisters, Sharon Sherrell Gillihan of Melbourne and Dula Sherrell Bryant of Salem; four grandchildren, Cara Shaw, Caysen Shaw, Jaxsen Butts and Jazper Butts; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Shane Dockins; her grandparents; and two nephews.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Gary Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers will be Mark Herrington, Brad Wheelis, Joe Jennings, Tom Curtis, Gaylon Hatfield and Hank Sherrell.
Honorary pallbearers are Paul Gillihan, Delbert Engelhardt, Rusty Rucker, Jason Sherrell, Greg Sherrell, Casey Hall, Courtney Jennings and Rodney Jennings.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
