James R Phagan was born Aug 21, 1865 in Benton County, AR and lived there all of his life and died Aug 23 1924. He was married in 1891 to Miss Barbara Goode and this union was blessed with four children 2 boys and 2 girls, all of whom are still living. The children are Morris F Phagan of New Mexico; Mrs. L. J. of Gunnison , Colorado; Miss Margaret and Bruce who live near Gentry, Ark. Besides his wife and four children, he leaves one brother, J. C. Phagan, and two sisters, Mrs. J. F. Clegg and Mrs. A. R. Wilson, to mourn his departure. He was a Mason and Odd Fellow and as a member of these fraternal orders he proved true and devoted. He was a man of strong personality, devoted to his family and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the family residence by Rev. F. L. Harris of the Methodist church.
