Candace Renee' Moody

Candace Renee' Moody, age 38, of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011. She was born June 2, 1973 in Rockford, Illinois to O. Bart and Charlene Overend Howen. She was preceded in death by a brother Troy W. Howen, grandparents, Beatrice and Eric Howen, Betty and Glenn Riebe and James J. Overend. Candace was a Registered Nurse at Baptist Health Medical Center. Candace was very active and involved in her children's sports activities that included volleyball and cheerleading. She was a dedicated inspirational mother to her children was the best mom ever. Candice motivated and inspired her brother, Craig to be the best he could be. As a daughter, she was the sunshine of her mother's eye and a very special gift from God. Candice was a caring, angelic gift who always put everyone else first. She will be tragically missed by all the many people she touched. Candace always wanted to serve in the medical profession. By support of her brother Craig, she worked as an Information Associate at Baptist Medical Center while she raised her family. She then graduated from the Baptist School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse for Baptist before becoming a private practice nurse for Dr. Peter Kim at the Surgical Clinic of Central Arkansas. She cared for her patients and treated them with the utmost respect and compassion. She took care of the little things that made them feel special. They thought of her as an angel, comforting them in their time of need, making them laugh or smile to forget about their illnesses. "Destiny decides who touches your life. Your heart decides who touches your soul." Candace has touched the lives of everyone around her, and will remain in our heart and soul forever.
She is survived by her father, O. Bart Howen of Jacksonville; mother, Charlene (Charles) Montgomery of Roland, Arkansas; children, Carmen Nicole, Courtney Michelle, Justin Thomas and Jordan Riley Moody all of Jacksonville; brother and sisters, Craig A. Howen of Jacksonville, Donald Lee (Kim) of Chicago, Lisa Lynn (Ronnie) Cantu of Amity, Arkansas, Troy Montgomery of Rockford, Illinois and Dustin (Rayonda) Montgomery of Millstadt, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers donations may be to US Bank in Jacksonville, Arkansas c/o The Moody Family account number 151802684333.
