Carrie Eileen Griffith, 81, of Fort Smith, AR (Sebastian County)died June 9, 2002.
She was a Retired Secretary for the Fort Smith Public School System serving Beard, Cavanaugh, Cornell, and Kimons Jr. High. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she sang in the Choir, volunteered, and visited shut-ins. She was a member of the “Daughters of the American Revolutionary War” and during her employment with the School System was honored with the “Golden Apple Ward” usually given to teachers only.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Griffith and a brother, George L. Morgan. She is survived by a daughter, Connie E. Thomas and husband Steve of Fort Smith, AR; a son, Jack M. Griffith and wife Sherry of Lamar, AR; three brothers, Earl Morgan of Punta Gorda, FL, Carl Morgan of Lamar, AR and Harold Morgan of St. Charles, MO; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
