1902 - 1999
Opal Miller, 96, of Bonita, LA, died Thursday, February 25, 1999, at the home of Betty Wisecarver near Hamburg. A native of Ashley County but a Bonita resident for 72 years, she was a retired teacher and a member of the Antioch Methodist Church. She graduated from Arkansas A&M College, now the University of Arkansas, Monticello, taught in several schools in Ashley County and in Bonita, and also ran the T. P. Miller Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Pryor and Fannie Hill Miller; a brother, Thomas Pryor Miller, Jr., and two sisters, Pearline and Jewel Miller. Survivors include many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Grave-side services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 28, at the Antioch Cemetery with Rev. John Shafer officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Todd Wisecarver, Dewayne Brooks, Donnie Miller, Robert Riles and Joey Miller. Arrangements were by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
