Patricia Mae Slater, 71, of Perryville, went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2009. She was born on May 5, 1937 in Johnstown, New York, a daughter of the late Robert and Reva Miller Antis. She was a retired customer service manager for Pacific Bell, where she received a 20 year perfect attendance award. She enjoyed card games, bridge, gardening, camping, and traveling but most of all, she loved to serve other people.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Roger Slater; sons Bob Slater and Roger Slater, both of Orange County, California; daughter Susan Root of Perryville, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Jeanne O’Toole of Oregon, Barbara Scott of Georgia and Janice Poulnott of Georgia; and a brother Robert Antis of California.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 27, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Perryville. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cardiology Department of University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Hospital, 4301 West Markham, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
