Funeral services for John W. Gibson, 35, of Huntsville who died in the Veterans Hospital at Fayetteville Saturday, were held in the First Baptist church here Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. R. W. Jones. Mr. Gibson had been in ill health the past few years and had been a patient in the Veterans Hospital for two weeks before his death.

He was born in Van Tassel, Wyoming, November 18, 1920, the son of John S. Gibson and Pearl Wimmer Gibson. He was a member of the First Baptist church, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy six years. He was married to Miss Chloe Dean Parker in August, 1942.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John S. Gibson of Lamar, Mo., one brother, Bob Gibson of Independence, Mo., three sisters, Mrs. James W. Evans, Independence, Mo., Mrs. Virgil Stock, Hickman Mills, Mo., and Mrs. Roy Beydler of Santa Monica, Calif., three nieces and three nephews.
Burial was in the Huntsville cemetery under the direction of the Brashears Funeral Home. Full military rites were conducted at the graveside by members of the Hayes-Smith American Legion Post.

Pallbearers were: Arlie Silvis, Lem Patrick, Honsel Benegar, John McDonald, Jim Scott and Otis E. Keffaber.
