Mrs. Lucinda S. Downey, aged 90, died Saturday, January 2nd, 1937 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Johnson, of Mason Valley. She was born February 7th, 1846, in Tennessee and was married on September 9th, 1866 to Eli Downey, who preceded her in death on March 25th, 1926.
She is survived by five children; Esther Rone of Mason Valley, T.B. Downey of Highfill, Marcella Johnson of Mason Valley, Mary Williams of Ojai, Calif., and Mansel Downey of Rogers, Ark. Twenty-four grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren also survive.
"Aunt Cinda," as she was familiarly known, had lived in and near Mason Valley for the past 62 years. Early in life she united with the Church of Christ and had remained a faithful member until the end.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Mason Valley church, by Rev. George B. Curtis of Bentonville and the body buried in the Coffelt cemetery.
