Dorothy Carpenter
SPRINGDALE — Dorothy Hollowell Carpenter, 75, of Springdale went home to be with her heavenly father on Sept. 4, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice. She was born Dec. 20, 1934, in Swain, Ark., to J.B. and Clara Tarkington. She was a wonderful Christian and member of Westside Freewill Baptist Church. She was a caregiver to many and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was loved by and will be missed by everyone.
She is survived by her husband, Claud Carpenter; three daughters, Jan Hammond and husband Rick, Shirley Fennell and husband James and Lisa Vanderlip and husband Wally, all of Springdale; one sister, Laveda Swafford of Stilwell, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Ricky Hammond and wife Teresa, Derrick Hammond, Chris Vanderlip, Jeremy Hammond, Tacara Vanderlip, Shawn Fennell and Nathan Fennell; one great-grandchild, Michaele Pennington and Kinley Faith Hammond due in November 2010 and four stepchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Westside Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Payne and the Rev. Larry Swafford officiating. Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
Visitation will he from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sisco Funeral Chapel.
