Jill Marquess McKenna

Jill Marquess McKenna, 54, of Bentonville, Ark., died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at her home. She was born on June 17, 1946, in Fayetteville to George Marquess and Mary Peel Marquess. She graduated from Bentonville High School in 1964 and then started a 15-year career with Capitol Records, working in Los Angeles and New York City. While in Los Angles, she attended UCLA and studied accounting.

She later worked in the business office for Leonard Bernstein and then owned an operated a yarn shop in Hoboken, N.J.

She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught English at Bentonville High School and served as a senior class sponsor. She was a member and officer of the Northwest Arkansas Quilt Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James McKenna, in 1993, and by her father.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Marquess of Bentonville; two brothers, George Marquess and Steve Marquess, both of Bentonville; and two step-daughters, Maria McKenna of Hoboken, N.J., and June Mitchell of Hackensack, N.J.

A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date. Internment will be in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown, N.J. Cremation arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Bentonville.
