John S Gage Dies After Short Illness
John S (J) Gage, aged 86, died Wednesday at the Hot Spring County Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born April 5, 1883 in Pulaski County and had moved to Malvern 10 years ago. He was married to Miss Amanda Dixon in 1904 and was a retired carpenter and minister.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Amanda Gage; four sons, Clarence Gage of Malvern, Havis Gage of Sequin, TX, Vance Gage of Talent, Oregon and Curtis Gage of Los Angeles, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Brown of Chester, Calif.; two brothers, Ira Gage and Ernest Gage of Malvern. One sister, Mrs Ora Levisee of Malvern 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 with Rev. Earl McAllister officiating and burial at Kennida Cemetery in Cleveland County.
Atkinson Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
