Mrs. Gladys Evelyn Gibson Wheat, aged 72, of Lonoke, a retired school teacher, died Thursday, May 8.
Mrs. Wheat had taught school in Lonoke for 34 years. She was a member of the Arkansas Education Association and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lonoke. Surviving are her husband, Edward Wheat Sr.; a son, Dr. Edward Wheat Jr. of Springdale; a daughter, Mrs. James Harlon Bryan of Benton; a brother, Dean Gibson of Nashville; a sister, Mrs. Tom Johnston Sr. of Little Rock; and five grandchildren. Funeral was May 9 at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Lonoke Cemetery by Boyd Funeral Service.
