Carl Edward Whitaker, 58, Gentry, died Aug. 12 in Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 30, 1919, in Prairie View, Kan., he was the son of Evan and Effie Allison Whitaker. He was a member of Gentry First Baptist Church, veteran of World War II and plumbing and heating contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise Whitaker of the home; a son, Jim Whitaker of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Faye Moulton of Weatherford, Okla.; two brothers, Loyd Whitaker of Casper, Wyo., and Kenneth Whitaker of Hutchinson, Kan.; five sisters, Mrs. Flossie Payne of Keene, Texas, Mrs. Mildred Brawner of Hutchinson, Mrs. Thelma Cain of Newbern, Tenn., Mrs. Edna Clark of Dennison, Texas, and Mrs. Eva Crudgington of Little Rock; five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Gentry with the Rev. Pat Layne, the Rev. Carl Nelson and the Rev. Jack Jones officiating. Burial will be in Gentry Cemetery under direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

LINCOLN, Neb. — Louise Whitaker, 84, of Lincoln died March 28, 2005 at Lincoln. She was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Basil, Kan., to Amos and Amelia Kaufman. She lived most of her life in Gentry and Siloam Springs and was active in the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Whitaker.

Survivors include one son, Jim Whitaker and wife Gayle of San Ramon, Calif.; one daughter, Faye Moulton and husband Gary of Lincoln, Neb.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Leo Kaufman of Gentry and Harry Kaufman of Tulsa, Okla.; three sisters, Dorothy Trammell of Dallas, Opal Moomey of Gentry and Ellen Garvin of La Habra, Calif.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs. Burial will follow in Gentry Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
