Ross Eugene Pitts Sr., 70, of Garfield, died Sunday, Jan. 17, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville.

He was born June 5, 1922, at Wichita, Kan., to Jack Pius and Agnes Ross Pitts. He was a cattleman and was retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 32 years as supervisor over the Minuteman missile maintenance. He moved to this area in 1974 and was a member of the Garfield Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife, Vivian Pitts; two sons, Ross E. Pitts Jr., of Rogers, and Mark Alan Pitts of Garfield; two daughters, Pam Pitts Lights of Auburn Hills, Mich., and Kay Pitts of Iowa City, Iowa; three brothers, Ben Pitts of Tonganoxie, Kan., John Pitts of Arlington, Texas, and Jim Pitts of Seligman, Mo.; three sisters, Glenda Forgey of Wheaton, Mo., Wanda Rutherford of Lenexa, Kan., and Joann Bryles of Rogers; and five grandchildren.

Funeral is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Garfield Church of Christ with Bobby Vaughn officiating. Burial is to be in Reddick Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is set for 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home, Pea Ridge.

GARFIELD — Vivian Pitts, 92, of Garfield, died Saturday, Nov. 5, at her home. She was born Sept. 30, 1924, at Seligman to Benjamin Garland Taylor and Snoe Anderson Taylor.

She was a homemaker, enjoyed traveling, listening to music, especially gospel music, entertaining her friends and family during the holidays and loved visiting with her friends and being with her family.

She was a member of Garfield Church of Christ and is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ross Pitts Sr. one daughter Kay Pitts (Pam's twin sister); a sister Juanita Gilliam; two brothers E.J. Taylor and Gene Taylor.

Survivors are two sons Ross Pitts Jr. (Marion) of Gentry and Mark Pitts of Garfield; one daughter Pam Light (Michael) of Auburn Hills, Michigan; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Garfield Church of Christ with burial at Ruddick Cemetery. No visitation. Cremation arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
