Mrs. Lenox Dies in Hospital Monday

Mrs. Tempa Collins Lenox aged 76 of Gorby, died in a Batesville hospital, Monday April 28, 1952, following several days illness.

Mrs. Lenox was born in Douglas County, Mo., and moved to Arkansas in 1907. She was married to John William Lenox August 2. 1896. Eight children were born to this union – six daughters, and two sons. She united with the Baptist church in 1918 and remained a devout Christian throughout her lifetime.

Surviving are her husband; one son Ray Lenox of Benton, Ark.; five daughters, Mrs. Iva Carson, Yellville, Ark., Mrs. Ola Bennett, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Eva Hayse, Toledo, Ohio; Mrs. Elsie Dehoney, Raytown, Mo., and Mrs. Freedith Smith, Wichita, Kansas; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Nancy Jones, Springfield, Mo.

Funeral services at Palestine Wednesday afternoon were conducted by Thurman Mason. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery with the Hall Funeral Service in charge.
