WILKS, Guy Harold - {from Garfield} Garfield community was shocked to learn of the death of Guy Wilks, son of Charley and Hattie Wilks, at 12:05 p.m. January 14th of pneumonia fever. He was sick only a few days. Guy Harold Wilks was born January 13th, 1903 and died January 14th, 1922, aged 19 years, one day. He lived all his life in our midst and numbered his friends by his acquaintances. He had a happy nature with a kind word for everybody and was never known to do any great wrong. His father said he never caused him a minutes worry in his life, which is a great thing to be said of any boy. His love and kindness to his mother was remarkable. The last thing he did before he took his bed was to carry his mother some water and the last conversation he had with her when not delirious he asked, "Mamma, how are you feeling?" Funeral services were held at the Christian church Sunday evening, conducted by the Rev. I.D. Ames. Interment at the Ruddick cemetery. He leaves a father, mother and three sisters, Verda, Hannah Ellen and Mary, who will be so lonely in their home without him.
