DODSON-WIGHT, Nancy Jane Russell - Mrs. George Dodson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Logan Lieb, last Wednsday evening at 5:30 o'clock. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Armstrong, pastor of the Rogers Baptist church officiating. Interment was made in the Dodson cemetery near Mrs. Lieb's home. Mrs. Dodson was ninety-two years of age and suffered a fall a few weeks ago from which she never recovered. The family have our deepest sympathy in their bereavement.

{this item was headed - Mrs. N.J. Dodson-Wight} Nancy Jane Russell was born in East St. Louis, Ill. May 15th, 1830. She went with her parents to Iowa when a child, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Geo. Dodson Nov. 18th, 1852. To this union was born 8 children, 6 of whom, with her husband, preceded her to the great beyond. She united with the Primitive Baptist church at Kirksville, Mo. in 1855 and lived a devoted Christian for over 50 years. In her young days she delighted in caring for the sick and was an excellent nurse, having graduated from the Bellevue College Hospital, New York City in June 1875. She was a woman of strong personality, of advanced ideals, noted for firmness and had always the courage of her convictions. She spent the last five years of her life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.L. Lieb, where everything that loving hands could do, was done, to make her last days comfortable and happy. She passed away Feb. 9th and was laid to rest in the family cemetery on the farm which had been her home since coming to Benton county in 1866.
