John Wilbert Jackson, 65, of Crossett died Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A native of Portland and a Crossett resident for the past 45 years, he was a master plumber and member of the Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include one son, Wilbert Wayne Jackson of Beekman, LA; two daughters, Linda Kay and husband Anthony Adcock and Glenda Kay Axtell of Crossett; four stepsons, Kenneth Pack of Hot Springs, Ronnie and Ricky Pack of Crossett and Donald Pack of Montrose; one stepdaughter, Elizabeth "Sissy" and husband Les Tucker of Montrose; three brothers, William "Sonny" Jackson of Crossett, Willie "Bill" Johnson of Warren and Eugene Jackson of Andulusia, AL; five sisters, Pauline White, Faye Stevens, Ruth Curnes and Nadine Purvis, all of Crossett, and Geneva "Sissy" McQuillan of Beekman; three grandchildren and ten step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Myrtle Jackson, and one sister, Marcelle Jackson.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 3, in the Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Bros. Carlton White and Justin Uselton officiating. Pallbearers were Leon, Frankie, Mike, William and Wade White and Raymond Flowers. Honorary pallbearers were Walter and Waylon Jackson and Jake Roberts. Burial followed services at the Rolfe Chapel Cemetery with arrangements by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
