BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Mrs. Mable Katherine Russell, 92, died at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Spencer and Chaplain Mark Bright officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse, Ark., under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either River Cross Hospice, 3723 S.E. Frank Phillips Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006; or, the Bluestem Baptist Church, 327 E. Durham, Dewey, OK 74029.
Mabel Katherine Russell was born on Nov. 30, 1918, in Hiwasse, Ark., the daughter of William D. and Sedalia Ann (Cash) Woods. She was raised and educated in Hiwasse and graduated from high school there. She married Mervin Leo Russell on Aug. 18, 1938.
She had worked in the packing department of the Goldkist Poultry Co. in Bentonville, Ark., and had also raised chickens. She had lived in Bentonville until moving to Bartlesville in 2002. She was a member of the Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.
Katherine is survived by two daughters, Betty Darlene Bolain of Bartlesville and Shirley Jean Zimmerman and her husband, Jack, of Cedar Vale, Kan,; six grandchildren, Terri Hollingsworth and her friend, Kevin, Vicki Murphree and her husband, Arlin, Leslie Donnell and her husband, Doug, Vanessa Zimmerman, Jack Zimmerman Jr. and his wife, Tammy, and Katrena Bragg and her friend, Stephen; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Janet Sue Russell; son-in-law Lawrence Bolain; three brothers; and two sisters.
