GRAVETTE - Robert William Knight passed away on April 23, 2011, at his home in Gravette. He was born Jan. 19, 1942, to Albert and Florine Knight in Virginia.

He spent his younger years in Georgia before joining the United States Navy at the age of 17.

Bob married the love of his life Jeanne Walters on Aug. 10, 1962. The couple had three children Sheryl, Daryl and Sharon. Bob loved his family and his grandchildren were his passion. His grandchildren felt that their GRANDPA was the greatest man on earth.

Bob retired from Rogers Iron & Metals in 2008 but spent marry years in the scrap metal industry in California and Colorado before moving to Arkansas. After retirement, he loved to watch the birds eat from his feeders and had a love for bald eagles. He was a very patriotic man that loved his country and honored the American flag with great passion. Bob is preceded by his parents and daughter Sheryl Knight Sellars.

Survived by his wife Jeanne; son Daryl Knight and wife Michelle; daughter Sharon Grounds and husband Jerry; his grandchildren Josh, Justin, Paul Ashley, Kendra, Donnie, Nicole, Steven and Johnathan and great-grandson Carter.

Graveside services with full military honors will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Gravette. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St., Rogers, AR 72756. Online condolence to www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.

GRAVETTE — Laura Jean Knight of Gravette went to heaven to be with her husband on Sunday June 19, 2011. Jeanne was born April 2, 1939, in Sugar City, Colo., the daughter Knight of Sox and Frances Hambleton Walters.

Jeanne married the love of her live, caretaker and best friend, Robert Knight, on Aug. 10, 1962; he passed away April 23, 2011.

Jeanne loved playing the piano, watching sports, playing card games with her grandchildren and chocolate!

She was Grandma to many kids who knew her.

Jeanne had rheumatoid arthritis most of her life and on Jan. 1, 2000, suffered a brain aneurysm. But this did not change Jeannes sense of humor. Many loved her because of her humor and she brought many laughs and smiles.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Robert Knight; and her daughter, Sheryl Knight Sellars.

Leaving behind three sisters, Helen Smith and Bea Leal of Colorado, and Lu Munoz of Arizona; son, Daryl Knight and wife, Michelle, of Gravette; daughter, Sharon Grounds and husband, Jerry, of Centerton; grandchildren, Josh (Tabby) Crane, Justin Crane, Paul (Christy) Sellars, Ashley (Garrett) Denton, Kendra (Jason) Skaggs, Tyler (Christa) Knight, Donnie Knight, Nicole Seay and Steven (Ashley) Seay; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Satchel Knight; with three more to be born this year, Easton and Paisley Crane and Aubrey Seay.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, near Gravette.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gravette Fire Dept., 604 First Ave. S.E., Gravette, AR 72736.
