Effie Pearl Hales, age 92, of Warren, Arkansas died Monday, December 20, at JRMC, Pine Bluff. She was born November 13, 1912 in Cleveland County, Arkansas a daughter of the late William Floyd Smith and Hixie Elizabeth Johnson Smith. She was a member of Saline Baptist Church, a homemaker and farmer. She married Thomas Edison Hales on August 15, 1942 at Pine Bluff, Ark. and he died May 28, 1985. Surviving is a son; a daughter; a brother; five grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Two brothers Melvin Smith and Alvin Smith and a sister Lena Miles also preceded her in death.
Funeral Services were 10:00am Wednesday, December 22, at Frazer's Chapel with Rev. David Cripps, Rev. James Decanter and Rev. Victor Hunter officiating. Burial in was Adams Singer Cemetery near Warren by Frazer's Funeral Home.
