Oleva Walker Peebles, 80, of Sacramento, CA, died Sunday, March 17, 1996 at Manor Care in Citrus Heights, California.
She was born February 23, 1916, in Sweetwater, Texas, a daughter of the late Fred Garland and Grace Palastine McMurtrey Walker. Mrs. Peebles was raised near Brockwell. She had been a California resident since 1935. She was united in marriage to Dr. Howard Peebles on October 2, 1950, in California. He preceded her in death, January 20, 1995. She was a former nurse, a homemaker, and a member of the Roseville Church of Christ in Roseville, Calif.
Survivors include two nephews that she raised, Bill Felver of Sacramento, Calif., and Tom Felver of Burton, S.C.; a niece that she raised, Margaret Wallis of Ukiah, Calif.; a brother, Osburn Walker of Brockwell; a sister, Eutha Burfield of Moline, Ill.; and eight other nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Peebles was preceded in death by her step-mother, Oma Jane Gray Walker; three brothers, Verl Walker, Basil Walker and Noil Walker; a sister, Virgie Felver; a nephew and a great-niece.
Funeral services were 2 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 1996, at Crouch Chapel in Melbourne with Bro. Chuck Crow officiating. Burial was in Melbourne Cemetery with Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne in charge of arrangements.
