Cleo Juanita Belcher, daughter of the late John and Mabel Boyd Eckhart was born at Renfro, Oklahoma, January 4, 1902. She departed this life in the Fulton County Hospital December 25, 1975 at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 21 days.
She was united in marriage to Fred Van Dyke Belcher at Whittler, California, July 6, 1929 and to this union two children were born. She leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Mrs, Mary Mathis of Oxford and Mrs, Betty Riddle of Venita, Oregon; two step-sons, Fred Belcher, Jr. of Fullerton, California and Edward Belcher of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, W. F. Eckhart of Lawton, Oklahoma; three sisters, Mrs. Alletha Davis of Long Beach, California, Mrs, Nellie Brown of Whittier, California and Mrs, Ruby Simpson of Rowland Heights, California, Thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.
She had been a member of the Baptist Church since she was a young girl and had made her home at Oxford for the past seven years.
Funeral services were held Sunday December 28, 1975 at 2 o'clock p.m. at the Oxford Baptist Church, with Rev. Dwayne Flood of Lanton, Missouri and Melvin Ford of Oxford officiating. Interment was in the Oxford Cemetery under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas. Casket bearers were: Fred Blankenship, Connie Everett, Eugene Hutchins, Jack Lee, Noble Rowden and Ernest Blevins.
