Died August 3, 1997, Salem, Fulton County, Arkansas.
Daughter of Isaac & Iza Alene Floyd Couch.
Married Hugo Howard Blankenship, May 22, 1933, Bandmill, Izard County, Arkansas.

Bessie Lee Couch Blankenship, daughter of the late James Isaac and Iza Alene Floyd Couch was born November 19, 1905 in Newburg. She died August 3, 1997 in Salem. She was 91.
Mrs. Blankenship was united in marriage to Hugo Blankenship May 22, 1923 in Bandmill. To this union nine children were born.
Mrs. Blankenship was a homemaker and mother. She was a Christian of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie May of Springfield, Missouri; Rachel Dillard of Oxford; and Bernice Sherrell of Oxford; two sins, Billy Blankenship of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Howard Blankenship of Brockwell; one sister Lorene Everett of Melbourne; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, three brothers, two sons, Burlin Blankenship and Roby Roy Blankenship and two daughters, Wilma Gay Blankenship and Alene Sherrell.
Funeral services were held August 6, 1997 at the Roman & Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Danny Hutcherson and Duane Flood officiating.
Pallbearers were Larry May, Tim May, Mike Blankenship, Johnny Blankenship, Terry Dillard, Joe Jennings and Danny Blankenship. Honorary pallbearers were Phil Langston and Charles Everett.
Interment was at the Oxford Cemetery under the direction of the Eddie Howard Funeral Home in Melbourne.
