Funeral services for Dr. W.A. McHenry of Rogers, who died last Thursday morning at a hospital in Springfield, Mo., were held Friday morning at 10:30 at the First M.E. church of Rogers, of which the deceased was a prominent member. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. E.C. Wadlow and interment was in the Rogers cemetery by the side of his wife who died two years ago. The large number of friends and the profusion of flowers at the funeral testified to the high esteem in which Dr. McHenry was held by the community. Dr. McHenry died following an operation which developed that his appendix had been ruptured and there were other complications that precluded recovery. William Alpheus McHenry was born in Filmore county, Minn. October 10, 1859 and died January 14th, 1926 at the age of 66 years, three months and four days. He was married to Miss Sarah A. Miller July 25, 1885 at Winona City, Minn. To them were born six children, one dying in infancy. Those living are Percy W. McHenry, St. Louis; Dr. Ray R. McHenry, Seligman; Mrs. Blanche Brown and Misses Maude and Edith McHenry of Rogers. Mrs. McHenry died January 1, 1924. Mr. McHenry studied medicine and received his degree from the Physicians & Surgeons College of St. Louis. After graduation he practiced in Willow Springs, Mo. and in St. Louis, coming to Rogers from the latter place in 1906, nearly twenty years ago. He joined the Methodist Episcopal church while living in Minnesota and had ever since been a faithful and earnest member of that body. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F. and W.O.W. Mr. McHenry is survived by a brother and four sisters, all of them living in Oregon. Dr. McHenry was a credit to his profession and by his death Rogers has lost one of its most upright and conscientious citizens and workers. Never of a robust physical build he did not shirk the arduous duties of the country and small town physician and was ever at the behest of his friends and patients. Many Rogers homes will sorely miss his sympathetic and kindly care and will know they have lost a trusted friend and advisor.

McHENRY, Sadie A. MILLER - Mrs. W.A. McHenry died Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Home Hospital following an operation which had been performed a few days previous as a last resort to save her life. She had been in poor health for a long time and in a serious condition for some months with but little hope for recovery. She was given every possible care but it proved of no avail. Funeral services were held at the McHenry home at No. 133 North Second street Wednesday morning at ten o'clock and were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Richard C. Lucke of the First Methodist Episcopal church. Burial was in the Rogers cemetery. Sadie A. Miller was born in Fond du Lac county, Wisconsin January 25, 1860 and was married to Doctor W.A. McHenry at Winona, that state, July 25, 1883. To them were born six children, five of whom are still living: Mrs. Milton Brown and Misses Maude and Edith McHenry of Rogers; P.W. McHenry of St. Louis and Dr. Ray R. McHenry of Seligman. She is also survived by her husband; one sister, Mrs. Edith Harris of Bellingham, Wash.; and two brothers, William A. Miller of Rochester, Minn. and H.A. Miller of Havre, Montana. The family came to Rogers from St. Louis some eighteen years ago and for sixteen years have lived in their present home and neighborhood. Mrs. McHenry had been a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church of this city since 1906 and while poor health has prevented her from taking an active part in the work of the church she has given much to the community through the influence of the members of her family.
