Alice Alverda Burns of Oxford was the daughter of William and Ida Ferguson Moss. She was born in Oxford, Arkansas on April 26, 1904 and died on December 1, 1986 at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas.
She was united in marriage to George C. Burns on August 6, 1924 and to this union three children were born. Her children are Donald Burns, James Burns, and Betty Burns (Beaty).
She is survived by her husband, George and her three children, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She had 4 siblings and two survive, sisters Hazel Burns Turner and Mary Burns Hayes, her two brothers preceded her in death, as did her parents.
Alice spent her working years as a homemaker and retired from General Motors in Anderson, Ind. where she worked in production. She was a member of the Oxford Methodist and Presbyterian Church since 1924.
