Tillman “Dutch” Warden of Oxford son of Argie Vira Couch Warden and the late James Olen Warden, was born June 17, 1930 in Day. He died January 31, 1998 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem. He was 67.

Mr. Warden was united in marriage to Faye Hartgrave April 11, 1950 in Arvin, California. To this union three children were born. He was self-employed as a farmer, served on the Oxford City Council for several years and was a past member of the Masonic Lodge #418 F. and A.M. of Salem. He was a member of the Oxford Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Mike Warden and wife, Caren of Jonesboro and Steve Warden and wife Lisa of Beebe; one daughter, Debbie Everett and husband Connie of Oxford; his mother of Wiseman; four sisters, Estella Lewis of Glen Carbon, Illinois, Eudine Deal of Newark, Geneva Moser of Edwardsville, Illinois and Charlotte Branscum of Cherokee Village; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Devene Blevins and his father.

Services were held February 3, 1998 at Cox-Estes Chapel with Brother Duane Warden officiating.

Interment was at the Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Estes Funeral Home in Salem.
