Married (2) Mamie Lee Shaver, March 17, 1937, Pulaski County, Arkansas.

Jesse T. Stroud Dies April 13 at Mountain Home

Jess Thomas Stroud, aged 88 of Wideman was born October 1, 1874 at Newburg, Ark. He passed away April 13, 1963 at Mountain Home, Arkansas.

A retired farmer, he was a life time resident of this county.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 16th at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Oxford with Rev. Herb Dean of Melbourne officiating.

Burial was at Oxford Cemetery under the direction of the McCallum Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie Stroud of the home; one son, Paul Stroud, Sulphur, La.; three daughters, Thelma Nelson, Wideman; Addie Wohlford, North Little Rock, Ark., and Berniece Dixon, Newport, Ark.; one brother, R. L. Stroud, Oxford, Ark.; one sister, Betty Tharpe, Sacramento, California; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Olen Youngblood, Roy Singleton, Ernest Helm, Leslie Martin, Oliver Reynolds and Zade Garner.

Jesse T. Stroud Dies at Mtn. Home

Jesse Thomas Stroud was born October 1, 1874 at Newburg, Ark. and passed away April 13, 1963 in a Mountain Home hospital at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 12 days.

He was married November 20, 1896 to Miss Daisy Montgomery who passed away in 1935. In 1937 Mr. Stroud was married to Miss Mamie Shaver who survives him.

Other survivors include one son, Paul Stroud of Sulphur. La.; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Nelson of Wideman; Mrs. Victor Wohlford of North Little Rock; and Mrs. Rudolph Dixon of Newport, also one sister Mrs. Thorpe of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, R. L. "Bob" Stroud of Oxford; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was a retired farmer, and a lifelong resident of Izard County. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 16, at 2:00 p.m. in the Oxford Church of Christ with Eld. Herb Dean of Melbourne officiating. Burial was made in Oxford Cemetery under directions of McCallum Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Olen Youngblood, Roy Singleton, Ernest Helm, Leslie Martin, Zade Garner and Oliver Reynolds.
