REDFIELD - Arthur Dewitt Oates, 95, of Redfield died Dec 26, 2009.
He was born Aug 19, 1914 in Perry, Ark, to the late Arthur Taylor and Lena Tucker Oates. The Oates family moved to Redfield in 1918 where he helped farm before entering into the US Navy. After the war he returned to farming for a number of years before moving to Dardanelle. He spent 30 years living in Dardanelle and moved back to Redfield in 2002 after his wife, Rossie, died. He attended the Church of Christ in Sheridan and enjoyed the fellowship of all his church family. He is survived by his niece Jane Oates Marsh of Redfield, who was his caregiver, and many other nieces and nephews. Graveside services were Dec. 28, Redfield Cemetery with Ken Bolden officiating by Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall.
