J.C. Ward of the Locust Bayou Community, died Thursday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Little Rock following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Locust Bayou Baptist Church with the Rev. Otis Reddin officiating. Burial will be in Plunkett Cemetery under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home of Camden. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Catherine Todd Ward of Locust Bayou; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Parker of Camden; a brother, R. J. Ward of El Dorado; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Hambrick and Mrs. L.M. Long, both of El Dorado, and Mrs. Claudia Zongker of Texas; and a number of grandchildren. (Camden News - August 12, 1977)
