Birtha Mae Young Criswell was born on July 27, 1932 to the late Adolph and Effie Mae Wesley Young.

Early in her life, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She was a faithful member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church until death. She served as President of the Missionary Society. She was committed to the up building of the Kingdom of God, working wherever she was needed.

She departed her life on August 14, 2010 at her home in Springfield, Arkansas. She attended Conway County Training School in Menifee, Arkansas. She was employed by Meadow Lake Nursing Home for years, Morrilton Day Care for many years and Area Agency on Aging for 21 years where she received several awards for her service.

She was united in marriage to Napoleon Criswell, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son; seven brothers; one sister and grandson.

She leaves to cherish her memory five sons; Leo Criswell of Topeka, KS; Lee Andrew Criswell (Emma) of Kansas City, MO; Napoleon Criswell, Jr. (Gloria) of Conway, AR; Clifford Criswell (Connie) of Paragould, AR; Howard Criswell of Springfield, AR, four daughters; Naomia Thomas (James) of Little Rock, AR; Fannie Evans (Albert Sr.) of Caldwell, AR; LaTonya Cockrell and Antwan Criswell of Conway, AR, one step-daughter Rosie Lee Redus (Michael) of Sherwood, AR; one step-son Jerry Doss (Emma) of Conway, AR; three sisters; Marjorie O'Guinn of Strong, AR; Ruthie Lee Young and Dolllie Pickens of Conway, AR, twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
