August 23, 1878 - October 26, 1972
J. N. Plunkett, 94, a lifelong resident of Calhoun County, died early this morning in a hospital at Hampton. He was born in 1878, in Calhoun County the son of Mary Hollis Plunkett and John M. Plunkett and was a retired farmer and a Methodist. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carlton Webb of Camden; two granddaughters, Mrs. R. V. Davis of Port Neches, Tex., and Mrs. Ed Hubbard of Prescott, and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Proctors, with burial in Plunkett Cemetery near Locust Bayou. (Camden News - October 26, 1972)
